What we have is truly a Hybrid stock. We have taken what we have learned from our work with micarta over the past 10 years and set out to design a lightweight stock that takes one of the most significant things we are known for, the dampening (or dead feel) shooting characteristic of our micarta stocks, and achieve that in a stock with a target weight of 32 oz bare. Functional weight of the stocks (bipod attachment point, recoil pad choice, etc.) will puts them more in the 2.5 lb. +/- range depending on configuration. 

Why a Hybrid?

Carbon fiber provides the stock high elastic modulus and high bending strength while the Kevlar/aramid supplies excellent torsion and dampening performance and assures high impact strength. The hybridization of the two materials together results in significantly higher energy absorption than carbon fiber or Kevlar individually. Using this in conjunction with our micarta material has given us an extremely stiff, impact resistant stock with unique dampening characteristics. When you shoot it, you know it’s a Foundation – “it just feels dead.” 

Foundation Stocks is excited to extend the Hybrid line of lightweight stocks with the Ezekiel Hybrid Hunting Stock. In chapter 37 of the book Ezekiel, we see the Lord commanding Ezekiel to take multiple sticks and join them together, so that they become one in your hand. We felt this analogy was well fitting for a stock in our Hybrid line, which takes materials that normally stand alone and combine them into “one stick” with amazing properties.

Why a Hybrid?

Our Hybrid line features a unique pairing of Micarta, Carbon Fiber and Aramid Fiber (commonly known as Kevlar). Carbon fiber provides the stock extreme stiffness while the aramid fiber supplies excellent torsion and dampening performance and assures high impact strength. Using this in conjunction with our micarta bedding block has given us an extremely stiff, impact resistant stock with unique dampening characteristics.
